Our Youth Group is a powerful source of knowledge, inspiration, and service

Our youth know that God has given them the power to be more than they thought possible, to dream big, and to overcome adversity. They draw in knowledge and inspiration.

A team of spiritual educators create youth programs that give young people an opportunity to explore who they are and what God has in store for them as they journey with God in this life. They provide a fun and safe environment that promotes spiritual growth and wholeness.

10 am Worship Service

The youth aid in the worship services by helping give out candy at the end of children’s sermons, by singing and playing instruments for special music, by being ushers, and helping with other hands-on activities.

Youth Spiritual Formation Classes

The youth group enters into conversations about their spiritual walk with God as they learn and grow from one another and seek to follow in the way of Christ. Spiritual Formation classes meet most Sundays, from 11:15 am – 12 pm, directly following our 10 am worship service.

Our youth ministry is about holding a young person’s deepest identity until he or she is able to see it too. We see them as beloved by God and their gifts enrich the world.

Youth Group

The group of middle/high schoolers meet Sunday nights from 6 pm – 7 pm. It is a time to wind down, seek spiritual guidance, and talk to one another.

The leaders use art and reflection, contemporary discussions, spiritual lessons, video, and open-ended questions to creatively teach this group of young people. The purpose of this spiritual education and formation is to enable our young people to work out their own faith and to live out their faith with God’s guidance ensuring a continuance of shared vision and love through supportive and nurturing atmospheres.

Mission Opportunities

The youth are actively involved in community mission projects. There are ongoing shut-in mission projects, which aid in reaching out to those who cannot physically attend worship, and other missions that help those in need, such as being involved in Dancing for a Cure (cancer) and the Lumineers Walk to remember those who are struggling with cancer and those who have lost their fight.

Ongoing Events

The youth engage in monthly bonding activities such as pinball, bowling, trampoline parks, haunted adventures, retreats, lock-ins, recreation at our local parks, pool parties, and more.

The youth are involved in summer mission projects and social justice issues giving them a greater sense of walking in someone else’s shoes.

In May, the youth participate in Youth Sunday where the youth lead the UCT Worship service and the graduates are honored.

During the year, the youth are encouraged to take part in Conference Youth Retreats, camps, and other activities.
